Curator Talk

Saturday, April 24, 2021

Join us in the Gallery to hear guest Curator Rodney Scherer talk about our Victor Cobb exhibition 'The Happy Wanderer'.

The Happy Wanderer,Gippsland and country works of Victor Cobb 1876–1945 includes drawings, etchings and water colour paintings from public and private collections, which show Cobb’s affection for the landscape and country life.

Victor Cobb is best known for his large number of etchings of Melbourne architecture and his anatomical drawings of Australian Marsupials and Reptiles and his country works have been mostly overlooked. Since 2012 Gippsland Artist and Curator, Rodney Scherer has compiled a list of Cobb’s Gippsland works some of which Gippsland Art Gallery has been able to secure the loans for the display of Cobb’s happy wanderings!

All are welcome to attend. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite here.
