Drawing Workshop – Drawing on the Mind’s Eye with Jock Clutterbuck

A drawing workshop to coincide with Jock Clutterbuck’s upcoming exhibition 'Wisdom Journey' at Gippsland Art Gallery.

To coincide with Jock Clutterbuck’s upcoming exhibition Wisdom Journey we are pleased to present this rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s most respected and admired senior artists. This is an adult drawing workshop hosted by Gippsland Art Gallery on Saturday 22 May, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

According to Clutterbuck, ‘Art is created from a sacred, special place in one’s mind; drawing on the mind’s eye is a way to access that space. Learning how to see differently and powerfully is fundamental to what we do as Artists. Noticing our world, looking, and seeing, are integral in being able to choose or act from ourselves. It is a transition from one state to another’.

Drawing on the Mind’s Eye is designed to empower new looking and seeing as they relate to the broader parameters of drawing and art making, and the implications of this for our enquiry into the Self.

In this workshop participants will discover how we can empower our looking and seeing. The practical component of this program looks at how we can build and develop visualisation skills and from simple beginnings into useful results by learning to apply active and passive seeing to a drawing context.

The theoretical component looks at the relationship of energies to creativity, how to appropriately manage finer energies and apply this to creative output.

Places strictly limited! Prior bookings and payment essential via Eventbrite.

Cost includes materials and light refreshments.
