Dragonfly Needlebook and Scissor Keep
Participants will create an embroidery design that covers a variety of techniques including applique, beading and embroidery, on a hand-dyed wool fabric. This project is suitable for all skill levels.
Ladybird Needlebook and Scissor Keep
Participants will create an embroidery design that covers a variety of techniques including dimensional embroidery, beading, on a hand-dyed wool felt fabric. This project is suitable for all skill levels.
About the artist
Jennifer Bennett is a local designer and tutor specialising in a variety of embroidery techniques. She has been embroidering most of her life, introduced by her Grandmother and Mother as a child. Jennifer sells her creations under the label Jennifer Bee Embroidery. Jennifer’s love of nature and her garden is the focus of many of her designs, and the combinations of ribbon, Stumpwork and surface embroidery are among her favourites.
Workshop duration: 10:30am - 4:30pm (level 2 Activity Room, Wellington Centre)
Participants will be required to bring a pair of small scissors (preferably embroidery scissors). Cost includes workshop, one embroidery kit (either Dragonfly or Ladybird) and a light lunch.
If you would like to complete both projects or take one home to complete, embroidery kits will be available for purchase on the day of the workshop for an additional $25.
Cost includes all other materials and light lunch.
