When you commission a new work, you want everyone to have the chance to hear it. That’s why the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is touring the world premiere of Joe Chindamo’s Flute Concerto, performed by Australia’s charismatic flutist Eliza Shephard.

Chindamo, our 2026 Composer in Residence, is also represented by Fantasie auf Nachtmusik, reimagining Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik. Paired with Mozart’s vibrant “Linz” Symphony, this program celebrates fresh new works and rediscovered gems.
